CORK A SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL

The harvesting of cork simply means that the bark of of the cork tree ( Quercus Suber) is removed from the exterior of the tree without any need to cut the tree down. As a sustainable material, not only is this tree regenerative in its material, but once the bark is removed the tree will absorb 3-5 times more CO2 then one which is left idle.

The fact that cork is biodegradable and renewable makes it one of the most sustainable materials that can be used to make wedge sandals.
